Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or with access to an unlocked vehicle. Allowing children to be in a vehicle unattended is dangerous for a number of reasons. A child or others could be severely injured or killed. Children should be warned not to touch the parking brake, brake pedal, or the shift lever. Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat and using a seat belt properly. Position the lap belt across your thighs, below your abdomen. To remove slack in the lap portion, pull up a bit on the shoulder belt. To loosen the lap belt if it is too tight, tilt the latch plate and pull on the lap belt. Mounted Side Air Bags to provide enhanced protection to help protect an occupant during a side impact. This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Driver Side Knee Air Bag to provide enhanced protection and work together with the Driver Advanced Front Air Bag during a frontal impact. LATCH, which stands for Lower Anchors and Tether for CHildren. To install a child restraint, first, pull enough of the seat belt webbing from the retractor to route it through the belt path of the child restraint and slide the latch plate into the buckle. Push the switch forward to increase the lumbar support. Press 1 or 2 to recall the saved positions, or press UNLOCK on the programmed Key Fob. Do not place any article under a power seat or impede its ability to move as it may cause damage to the seat controls. Pull upward on the seatback recliner lever located on the outboard side of the seat. Lower the center head restraint down to the seatback by pushing the button on the guide and pushing the head restraint down. The storage bin cover must be locked and flat to avoid damage from contact with the front seat tracks, which have minimal clearance to the cover. In a collision, serious injury could result if the seat storage bin covers are not properly latched. Persons who are unable to feel pain to the skin because of advanced age, chronic illness, diabetes, spinal cord injury, medication, alcohol use, exhaustion or other physical conditions must exercise care when using the seat heater. It may cause burns even at low temperatures, especially if used for long periods of time. Do not adjust the steering wheel while driving. The tilt adjustment must be locked while driving. Adjusting the steering wheel while driving or driving without the tilt adjustment locked could cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle. Failure to follow this warning may result in you and others being severely injured or killed. Rotate the end of the lever to the first detent position for one of five intermittent settings, the second detent for low wiper operation and the third detent for high wiper operation. The Speed Control switches are located on the steering wheel. OFF button to activate the Speed Control. ERS shift control will help you maximize both performance and engine braking. The transmission will upshift sooner and downshift later. The transmission will skip select gears during shifts to allow the engine to operate at lower speeds. For window defogging, turn the recirculation button off. Recirculation is allowed in floor mode. Push the AUTO mode button to activate the ATC system. Select the desired temperature by pressing the temperature control buttons for the driver or passenger. The system will maintain the set temperature automatically. System from the front lower ATC panel, illuminates a LOCK symbol in the rear display. The rear temperature and air source are controlled from the front lower ATC panel. The power liftgate may be opened and closed by pressing the button located on the overhead console. Press the button once to open, and a second time to close the power liftgate. The power liftgate may also be opened and closed by pressing the button on the Key Fob. Press the button twice to open, and twice to close the power liftgate. This feature will detect an obstruction in the opening of the sunroof during Express Close operation. If an obstruction in the path of the sunroof is detected, the sunroof will automatically retract. Remove the obstruction if this occurs. Next, press the switch forward and release to Express Close. Your radio has many features that add to the comfort and convenience of you and your passengers. Some of these radio features should not be used when driving because they take your eyes from the road or your attention from driving. Press to seek through radio stations in AM or FM bands. Hold either button to bypass stations without filexlib.
